Hello everyone, I have always been involved in motorsports, dirt bikes, three wheelers, four wheelers, snowmobiles and ski boats. I became a part of WATVA/Nohvis to give back to the sport of ATVing which I enjoy and I want to be a part of its continued growth in Wisconsin! I feel we have some of the best riding in the nation, which takes an effort by all of us to sustain and to improve our riding opportunities. I am also a involved member of a number of local clubs in my area along with being a Trail Patrol Ambassador, DNR ATV Safety Instructor and one of the WATVA Northwest Region Coordinators.

I have always been employed in some type of sales and enjoy working with people and traveling for work. It is rewarding working with young people, as I have been involved in 4-H, the local Youth Wrestling Club, Junior High Wrestling Coach and was an Assistant High School Wrestling Coach for four years.  I now devote some of my time to teaching ATV Safety Classes.

I am fortunate to have my spouse, Donna, also interested in the sport of ATVing; we are able to ride together and explore new areas during the season. She too is an Trail Patrol Ambassador and DNR ATV Safety Instructor. We have two grown children, one son, Jeremy, and a daughter, Dana, and two granddaughters. They all enjoy riding ATV’s.

I graduated from Glenwood City High School and Dunwoody Technical Institute and take pleasure in taking continuing education classes. I have always lived in Wisconsin except for the two years I attended Dunwoody.

Donna and I love the outdoors. I also camp, hunt, canoe, ice fish, garden and especially enjoy having family time!

Happy ATVing,
Greg Olson

I joined WATVA after purchasing an ATV and realized I need training and safety equipment if I don’t want to get injured or killed.  I took an ATV Safety Course where I met Rob McConnell an excellent ASI Instructor.  I asked him how I could get involved with the ATV Association in Wisconsin.  He gave me Randy Harden’s name.  I asked to volunteer for any help he may need in the organization.  I later was asked to become the Regional Coordinator for the Northeast region of WI.  That was in 2004.

Professionally I am a therapist, one that works with the mind and usually with those who need to make changes in their life to become a better human being.  I specialize in Domestic Violence, Anger Management, Corrective Thinking and Alcohol and Drug Counseling.  I have worked for the Department of Corrections for 15 years.  I also own my own counseling business.

I am married to Laurie who is an RN and the Administrator at a memory loss unit in St. Point, WI.  We have three children, Nick 31, Nate 28 and Ryan 22.  Nick and Nate are married and have 3 children and live in WI while Ryan is single and lives in Tampa, Florida.

I graduated from Monroe High School in Monroe, WI.  I joined the US Marines and spent 13 months in Vietnam.  I was wounded by rocket fire and awarded the Purple Heart in 1967.  I became Vice President in my fathers painting business and worked as a painter for several years.  I eventually moved to Florida and entered college where I found that I enjoyed helping others and started to pursue a career in human service.  I was certified as an Alcohol and Drug Therapist in 1985 and have never looked back.

I enjoy golf, fishing, boating, computers, gadgets and living life.  I love the outdoors and do my best to leave it like I found it or better, for those who may come after me.

Me and my family all ride ATV's, which include my wife Lori and my daughter Jackie. We do most of our riding around the Barnes Wisconsin area.

Being raised on a dairy farm in Glenwood City, I am used to working in dirt and mud (which I find funny as that is now where I have fun). I am not farming any more. Now it is a 9 to 5 job on a short day during the summer months painting the yellow and white lines on the highway that we travel every day. Interesting job! oh yes.

I have not been involved with WATVA all that long. It all started in fall 2006 when I was asked to help with an ATV safety course. That was the end of the beginning. I am now both an instructor and ATV Trail Patrol Ambassador. I am also a fire fighter, so some of that training does carry over into classroom training.

I started riding ATV's at a very young age on an old three-wheeler. Since then, I have been hooked on this family sport! Growing up, I had many opportunities to explore the states ATV trails and watched before my eyes how much the sport grew. I have many memories of family ATV trips where we all got to ride and had a lot of fun! I plan on continuing this tradition with my own family as my kids will soon follow in my footsteps (that is, if they wish to)! My oldest daughter loves to ride along in the UTVwith me!

I have participated in many ATV related events and races growing up, and continue to support our sport by providing WATVA with the web site you are currently reading. I also love to help out on the print publication "Trail Tales" when needed. Most recently, I started to host the online show "Trail Tales TV."

I am always working on expanding WATVAs mission via technology and the internet!

Some of my qualifications are:

  • Wisconsin DNR ATV Safety Instructor
  • ATV Safety Institute Instructor
  • Ride Smart Trail Patrol Ambassador Assistant State Coordinator
  • Volunteer Fire Fighter for the Town of Sheboygan Fire Department
  • HAM Radio Operator
  • Skywarn Storm Spotter
  • License Insurance Agent

When I am not working on WATVA projects I work for National Motorsports Services as a licensed insurance agent. National Motorsports provides not only liability coverage for OHV events / parks / clubs, but personal lines insurance specializing in the off-road industry.

Finally, when im not working on either jobs above, I am spending time with my family or volunteering my time as a Fire Fighter.
