NEW REQUIREMENT! All Wisconsin Recreational Safety Students are required to obtain a Wisconsin DNR Customer ID Numberbefore the completion of ANY Recreational Safety Class. Students will be required to provide that DNR Customer ID Number along with their personal information to the Instructor. You can obtain a DNR Customer ID Number by calling WI DNR Customer Service at 1-888-936-7463 between 7AM and 10 PM daily. On-Line Class Registration: If there is an "Enroll" link in the "Click to Enroll" column you may register for this class by placing your name on the class roster. Upon successful enrollment you will received a confirmation number to review your enrollment and the class details. As a courtesy to the instructor and other potential students please contact the instructor if you are unable to attend this class.

Students with special needs must contact the instructor at least two weeks in advance of the course to request special accommodations.

If you are unable to find a class that you are interested in, please check back periodically as classes are updated weekly. Be sure to check in adjoining counties or in any county where you would be willing to travel. Instructors notify the DNR when a class is full and the class is then removed from this website.

NEW! Operators of all terrain vehicles (ATV) now have a convenient online method to receive ATV Safety Certification through an Internet Web Course recently introduced by the Department of Natural Resources. The following generalization is based on trends of classes offered in past years:

• ATV safety classes are taught year round, with the most classes offered in April, May and June;
• Boating safety classes are generally offered in March, April, May and June;
• Bow hunter education classes are taught year round but are not common. About 160 classes are taught annually around the state. Many bow hunter classes are taught as an “add-on” to hunter education classes;
• Hunter education classes are most often offered in the spring, late summer and fall. Very few Hunter Safety classes are taught in November and December;
• Snowmobile safety classes are generally taught between October and February, with most classes offered in December and January.
