This trail is located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in Schoolcraft County 4 miles north of Seney on HWY 77.  The trail map shows it is 29 miles in length but we found it was 30 miles according to the GPS. The parking area is just north and to the east of the East Branch of the Fox River...more

How I plugged my own tire!    I recently punctured my tire with either a rock or stick. There was a loud pop like a gun shot but I couldn’t find anything wrong. The hole was so small I rode on it for 50 miles before it went flat. I have always had the opinion that I won’t...more

Big Birds Bio

Let me introduce myself, I'm Big Bird (aka Vickie).

I earned the name after purchasing a yellow ATV, I usually wear yellow, and my favorite color is yellow. Sadly I am no longer riding my yellow ATV. I now ride a blue ATV but still wear yellow, love yellow, and a fake Big Bird rides on my front rack. So if you see us on the trail be sure to stop and say “HI!”

I am so excited to be bringing you Big Birds Adventures. I'll be writing about our ATV trips, the people we ride with and meet, the stuff we buy, and anything interesting that comes my way.

Hubby (aka Big Red or Jerry) and I ride all over Wisconsin. Most weekends we can be found somewhere north of Green Bay. We also take a week each year and go ride somewhere other than Wisconsin and the U.P.

Big Red and I have been married since 1979; we have one child and one grandchild. We live in Tisch Mills WI on our 4 acre ranch. I grew up on what you would call a hobby farm in western Pennsylvania and have been riding motorcycles, three wheelers, horses, bicycles, oh just anything fun for as long as I can remember.

I have been riding what I call the "big machines" for the last three years.
How I got my first "big machine".
I had been telling Big Red for years that he would be buying me a diamond (I didn't get one when we got married) for our 25th anniversary. Instead I begged him to buy us each an ATV. I had been working on him for years. He didn't want to buy them because we really didn't have anywhere to ride other than our 4 acres and 40 acres of a friend. We didn't know there were trails. I discovered the trails did exist I was able to convince him ATVs would be better than a diamond.

This is where the adventures begin.
