  • Sb 448 - Utv Bill Passes!
Some good news to share. I just heard from Mike Peterson (Wisconsin County Foresters Association), who received a call from State Representative Mary Hubler. The state assembly voted and passed our UTV extended/expanded today, 3/4/2010!! All that’s left is for the governor to sign it, as we know that takes some time but I’m absolutely sure we’re set now for the upcoming summer riding season.

That said, there are still some important implementation details that need to be discussed, worked out and gone over with the various land managers before the riding season gets here. Yes, still lots of work to be done but the first and primary hurdle is over.

For now though I just wanted to relay the news to all. I wanted to also thank our great partnership work on this bill with the fine folks at WCFA, our DNR program administrators and the state lawmakers that worked really hard with us to make this happen this quickly!! Good job by all.

More as it develops but for now an evening or to celebrate at least a little bit.

The invite below another topic altogether. The All Terrain Vehicle ATV Club is inviting Trail Ambassadors to join in on a new trail and special fundraiser for cancer (a.k.a. Budda Box). Ernie Pulvermacher, club president advised me that they would waive the $10 registration fee for those patrollers that participated and wished to do so!

ATV Ride to Benefit Budda Box

The Trail advocates of Marquette County are organizing a one day trail ride on April 3rd out of Montello to the North to Benefit the Budda Box. Other organizations helping put this together are the All Terrain Riders who have sponsored the insurance and the Interstate 4H exchange program which will be helping with the food.

This ride will start at 10am from the Montello high school and finishing approximately at 5pm again at the high school. It is a $10.00 per rider participation fee with all fees going directly to the Budda Box. Helmets are required to be worn during the ride.

This is in cooperation with the Marquette County Sheriff Department, Montello Police Department, and the Wisconsin DNR. Any individuals or organizations wishing to help or participate please contact Ernie Pulvermacher at 920-295-3294 or via this email or attend our next meeting at 7am March 13th at the Montello Hilltop Cafe.

    Come support a worthy cause.
